Paediatric Surgery Clinic

The Paediatric Surgery Clinic at the Olgahospital is among the largest in Germany. The spectrum of treatments offered here encompasses neonatal and deformation surgery, paediatric urology and oncological surgery.

Special areas of emphasis are burn surgery (Severe Burn Centre), interventional endoscopy, minimally-invasive surgery, minimally-invasive "funnel-chest" (Pectus excavatum sive infundibulum) correction, oesophageal procedures, diaphragm-hernia surgery, laser therapy and cryotherapy, urodynamics.

Close co-operation is maintained not merely with this clinic's own departments (Anaesthesia, Paediatrics, Orthopaedics, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and ENT), but also with the surrounding clinics. An exchange with the paediatric clinics at the hospitals in Göppingen, Ludwigsburg, Böblingen and Waiblingen has been established by way of co-operation contracts.

We place special emphasis on the long-term care of our small patients. This range of care includes special consultations for burns, urological disorders, oesophageal surgery, ano-rectal surgery (ano-rectal manometry, biofeedback), haemangioma treatment and endoscopy).
