Head Centre Ophthalmology Clinic

The Ophthalmic Clinic at the Katharinenhospital performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to treat eye diseases and serves the entire area of Stuttgart. More than half of our patients come to us from outside Stuttgart.

This clinic has an emergency team on call around the clock to respond to emergencies– and provides ophthalmological consultation service for the other centres affiliated with Stuttgart Clinical Centre/Klinikum Stuttgart. The Ophthalmic Clinic's spectrum of services also encompasses outpatient consultations and treatment – including outpatient surgeries.

In addition, this clinic features various special-emphasis outpatient clinics such as vision therapy, an outpatient clinic for visually-impaired people which offers the fitting of magnifying corrective eyewear, contact-lens fitting  - particularly for small children following lens-removal surgery.
