The clinic offers diagnosis and treatment for the entire spectrum of psychiatric disorders and steadily advances towards an increasing differentiation process. Specializations for acute psychiatric treatment, crisis intervention, optional services and depression treatment, affective spectrum with mother-child unit, chronically mentally ill, early treatment and psychotherapy severe neuroses and personality disorders are performed and further developed. The extensive offers of social-psychiatric clinic, with day hospital, outpatient department, community psychiatric centres, outpatient assisted living and two homes for the mentally ill are closely linked through the “coordinating caregiver” project. The competencies of the staff will continue to adapt to structural changes and latest treatment methods will be implemented.

Exceptional procedures in Diagnosis and Therapy
  • The Clinic for Special Psychiatry, Social Psychiatry and Psychotherapy is charged with the entire treatment chain, from acute care and crisis intervention via the special stations and day hospital to the outpatient department and the social psychiatric facilities (outpatient assisted living, residential homes, community psychiatric centres) and offers this way a unique range of treatments in the region. Another unique feature is the conceptualization and implementation of the “coordinating caregiver” project, whereby the treatment of chronically ill patients at the interfaces of inpatient admission and discharge is optimized.
  • The clinic is the only one involved nationwide in a DAK project of the integrated care of depressed patients.
Scientific activities

The Medical Director represents clinically and scientifically, a phenomenological-anthropological Psychiatry department. The related research is qualitative individual case research, with origins in the clinic, which retroacts there diagnostically and therapeutically. This clinical approach is based on an accurate initial diagnosis of psychopathology,
based on which both psychotherapeutic and neurobiological and psychopharmacological approaches are established.
