The Clinic for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy for the elderly in the Centre for Mental Health specializes in the care and treatment of mentally ill people in older age. It is the only established speciality department on this field in Stuttgart region. It offers, in close cooperation with the clinic's somatic speciality departments, a full range of consulting on outpatient treatment to partially and fully inpatient care.

The clinic has a total of 61 beds, a day clinic with 20 places and the Memory Clinic with its gerontopsychiatric outpatient care institute with a differentiated treatment and counselling for patients and relatives. Special stations are established focusing on depression in old age and for people with dementia and challenging behaviour . The clinic is associated with the gerontopsychiatric consulting services (GerBera) in Stuttgart-West, East and Feuerbach.
