The Clinic for Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology is a central facility for all diagnostic, minimally invasive and interventional therapy requirements of clinics and specialist outpatient clinics of Katharinenhospital and other clinics of Stuttgart Hospital in general radiology. In addition, it is also available for all ambulatory patients. The clinic is equipped with advanced diagnostics, such as Flash-CT, high-performance MRI (Cardiac Imaging), emergency room, CT, PACS (Picture Archiving & Communication System) and voice recognition system. For interventional procedures, there is a special hybrid operation concept available. For the patients there are four outpatient day hospital beds and eight inpatient, independently-operated beds available. The clinic is certified for interventional and minimally invasive procedures by the German Radiological Society (German Society of Interventional Radiology) and is also a certified member of the multidisciplinary Vascular Centre, the certified Intestine Centre, the certified Prostate Cancer Centre, the certified Pancreas Centre and the Interdisciplinary Diabetic Foot Centre (InDiZ) in the hospital. Both the medical director and his deputy have the full training authority of the German Radiological Society and CIRSE (Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology Society of Europe) in Interventional radiology.
