The Clinics of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology/Neuroradiology in Bad Cannstatt Hospital feature the most modern diagnostics, such as MRI (TIA technology), multi-slice CT and high-performance ultrasound including an automated breast scanner.

Emphasis in Surgery, especially in major abdominal surgery, is given in radiological diagnosis in the preoperative and postoperative stage, in intensive care medicine and interventional radiology, including the post-surgical drainage of abscesses and haematomas via CT.The entire range of orthopaedic diagnosis is also available. It focuses on endoprostherics, special knee, hip and shoulder surgery and traumatology.

In the field of internal medicine, radiology is primarily involved in gastroenterology, cancer diagnosis, interventionally during placement of cava filters and chemoembolization in gastrointestinal tumours (primary hepatocellular carcinoma, liver metastases) and bleeding. In dermatology, apart from general problems, preoperative and postoperative examinations are carried out in cases of malignant melanoma. We manage all radiological problems for the Women's Clinic in Bad Cannstatt Hospital. Emphasis is also given to breast diagnostics in a certified breast centre.

Neuro-radiological imaging provides all the necessary emergency procedures such as CT angiography, magnetic resonance diffusion and perfusion measurements, and MR angiography of intra-and extracranial vessels.

Treatment and care priorities
  • Gastrointestinal Radiology (under medical or surgical issues)
