The clinic serves the Paediatric Surgery Department, the Orthopaedic Department and the ENT clinic of the Olga Hospital. In addition, narcoses are performed in paediatric diagnostics, in magnetic resonance imaging and teeth restoration. The clinic staff are also responsible for the multidisciplinary intensive care unit for the care of operated children and burn injuries. The clinic is also responsible for the running of the paediatric surgical day clinic. Autologous blood donation in children is carried out in close cooperation with the blood centre of Stuttgart Hospital. The medical staff are part of the emergency medical team of the City of Stuttgart.

Children anaesthesia in Olga Hospital is by far the largest paediatric anaesthesia department nationwide, with approximately 10,000 narcoses. With intravenous narcoses, it has broken new ground, leading to a greatly improved result in anaesthesia tolerance in children (lower vomiting rate and better postoperative analgesia, etc.). In addition, the monitoring of anaesthesia depth is performed by specific EEG monitors, which has improved the safety of anaesthesia procedure. With STUPS (Stuttgart Paediatrics Simulator) a multi-centre training project has been launched to offer specialized instructors in a high quality simulation training for emergency situations.
