The clinic treats about 23,000 patients per year in the peri-operative stage. Moreover, patients with acute postoperative and chronic pain are treated. The clinic is part of the Regional Pain Centre in Stuttgart. The interdisciplinary operative ICU treats in close cooperation with the surgical/neurosurgical disciplines patients after major surgery and with multiple accidental injuries. The clinic coordinates the leading emergency physicians of the City of Stuttgart. In June 2011, we started a collaboration with the DRF (German Air Rescue) at the air ambulance base of Leonberg.
