Interdisciplinary Emergency Department (INA)

Since mid-December 2010, the internal medicine and surgical emergency outpatient department of Katharinenhospital was aggregated to an interdisciplinary emergency department (INA). The INA is located directly at the main entrance of Katharinenhospital, on 60, Kriegsbergstraße.

The surgical and internal discipline, attend here interdisciplinary each patient together. The goal is to quickly reach a diagnosis and to be forwarded to the appropriate department. The INA has an emergency station, where, if the need arises, patient therapy may be already launched. There is a clear responsibility and accountability throughout the stay in the INA, without distribution of responsibilities and unnecessary patient journeys.
