Interdisciplinary Medical Center

Clinic of General, Visceral and Transplant Surgery

The clinic treats patients with all general and visceral surgery diseases. The traditionally large abdominal surgery is increasingly replaced by minimally invasive surgical procedures. In addition to liver and pancreas surgery, cancer operations on the stomach and intestines as well as hernia surgery have a particularly high share of the range of operating services. We are equipped with all common state-of-the-art procedures and special technologies, such as extremely modern ultrasound dissectors, intraoperatively computer-aided ultrasound examination, laser, minimally invasive proctological therapy and HDTV laparoscopy units.

Furthermore, we are certified as a reference centre for adipositas and metabolic surgery. The surgical area, wards and x-ray ward of our clinic are well equipped with all equivalent technology for treatment of obese patients. As Bowel Centre, we have already been certified again. We take part in the local Trauma Centre of the Bad Cannstatt Hospital in the context of the certified “Trauma Network of the Stuttgart Region” and make a significant contribution as emergency physicians for primary care of the city of Stuttgart.
